St-Pierre: Bhageeruth Mdhin Files Complaint for Police Brutality

A complaint regarding police brutality has been filed. Bhageeruth Mdhin, a defeated candidate from the Alliance du Changement in the recent municipal elections in Vacoas-Phoenix, claims he was assaulted by a police officer.

According to his statements, the officer was driving a vehicle at high speed. Bhageeruth Mdhin allegedly confronted him about his reckless driving, which the officer did not take kindly to.

The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday in St-Pierre, near a traffic light. Bhageeruth Mdhin is currently hospitalized.

He is requesting that footage from the Safe City cameras be reviewed to shed light on the incident.

On its part, the police confirm that a complaint has been filed. The officer involved has also lodged a complaint, particularly for contempt and dangerous driving.
