Goodlands: Images Show Alleged Acid Attack Involving Hans Juliette
Images depicting an alleged acid attack involving Hans Emmanuel Juliette, who subsequently became a victim of supposed police violence, are currently circulating.
The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, around 5 PM. This attack is said to be linked to an attempt to pass off a counterfeit banknote, which the victim refused to accept.
According to the police report, a 22-year-old man, a mason by trade and a resident of Goodlands, was sitting by the roadside with a friend when a white motorcycle approached from Reservoir Road. Upon reaching them, the motorcyclist allegedly threw the contents of a white container towards the victim before fleeing the scene.
The substance reportedly splashed on both of the young man’s legs, causing immediate severe burns. The victim received treatment at the Mediclinic in Goodlands, where a medical certificate was issued.
It should be noted that SOCO officers were unable to conduct a site examination due to unfavorable weather conditions.
The suspect, Hans Emmanuel Juliette, was later arrested but reportedly managed to escape from the Goodlands police station. He was subsequently spotted and re-arrested in an alley in the area, where he had been hiding.
The police state that the suspect resisted arrest vigorously, displaying hostile and aggressive behavior towards law enforcement. Images widely shared on social media show the accused lying on the ground, receiving several blows from a baton by a police officer, under the shocked gaze of locals. According to the video, other uniformed officers intervened to try to calm their colleague.
After being subdued and re-arrested, Hans Emmanuel Juliette was forcibly taken back to the Goodlands police station. His father, François Juliette, disputes the narrative of an acid attack, asserting, "It wasn't acid."
