Mauritius Telecom Implements 'Work from Home' Three Times a Week Starting This Monday

In an international context marked by tensions in the Middle East and increasing concerns regarding energy supply, fuel costs, and global logistics, Mauritius Telecom is implementing a hybrid work model.

In response to the national imperative for energy conservation, the company will introduce 'work from home' starting April 6. This hybrid model will allow approximately 40% of its workforce, nearly 750 employees, to telecommute three days a week. This arrangement may be gradually strengthened if the situation demands it, following a structured and responsible approach.

This initiative is expected to save around 5,000 kWh of electricity per day and reduce monthly fuel consumption by approximately 25,000 liters related to commuting. It aims to lessen both energy consumption in offices and the reliance on daily travel.
