Allegations of Assault and Abuse Against Mufti Azhar Peerboccus: A Young Man's Testimony

"It felt like being in a prison," recalls one of the alleged victims, now 18 years old. With his parents' consent, he spoke about the incidents that reportedly took place at Twaha Academy Boarding School when he was 17. The young man is among the students from this school who reported Mufti Azhar Peerboccus to the police for assault and abuse.

The young man's mother says she lives in fear. "I am scared. As long as my child is not home, I am afraid," she confides. In the attached video, you can find the testimony of the young man and his mother.

It is important to note that Mufti Azhar Peerboccus was arrested upon his arrival at Plaisance Airport on Saturday evening, coming from South Africa. The former director of Twaha Academy faces three provisional charges of "Child Ill-Treatment." The police opposed his release, and he has been kept in custody. The religious figure denies the allegations against him.
