Clouds and Intermittent Rain This Friday
A warning for strong waves is in effect in Mauritius and will remain valid until 4 AM this Saturday. Clouds associated with the remnants of a frontal system are intermittently influencing the local weather. This morning, the weather is partly cloudy to cloudy, with intermittent rain mainly in the southern half and on the central plateau. These rains could be locally moderate. This afternoon, the weather will generally remain partly cloudy with light rain on higher grounds.
Tonight, it will be mostly cloudy with intermittent rain mainly in the East, South, and on the central plateau. Pockets of fog are expected, especially in higher areas. The southeast wind will blow at about 25 km/h, with gusts reaching 60 km/h in certain locations.
The sea will be very rough beyond the reefs, with southwest swells of about 4 meters. Waves could crash onto low-lying coastal areas in the West and South, especially during high tide. Fishermen, boaters, and the general public are strongly advised against going out to sea and should avoid beaches during high tide.
The maximum temperature will range from 23 to 26 degrees Celsius in elevated areas and from 28 to 30 degrees Celsius on coastal regions. The minimum temperature will be between 19 and 21 degrees Celsius on the central plateau and between 23 and 25 degrees Celsius on the coast.
