Weather: Heavy Rain Expected Starting Tonight

A weather advisory for heavy rain has been in effect in Mauritius since this morning. Heavy showers are likely across the island due to active clouds associated with the monsoon that is currently developing in the region.According to meteorologist Munir Shamtally from the Vacoas weather station, the sky is already overcast, and rain is being observed in some areas. From tonight until tomorrow morning, occasional heavy showers are expected due to atmospheric instability.Precipitation may persist until tomorrow, particularly affecting the northern sector, as the monsoon moves in from the northwest. However, other regions may also be impacted, with widespread rain anticipated across the entire island. He notes that tonight's showers could be temporarily intense and accompanied by thunderstorms.He advises the public to stay indoors, avoid low-lying areas, refrain from hiking, stay off the water, and not seek shelter under trees during thunderstorms.
