GRA: Emergency Board Meeting This Friday

An extraordinary board meeting has been urgently called at the Gambling Regulatory Authority (GRA). Members were notified shortly before 4 PM about a meeting scheduled for 5:15 PM this Friday.

In recent days, the GRA president, Veeshal Chumroo, has been at the center of controversies. The issue mainly revolves around the alleged use of a Porsche belonging to a bookmaker, which he reportedly drove for several days as part of a trial for a potential purchase from a dealer.

This matter has also been reported to the Financial Crimes Commission. When contacted, the individual stated that he has not yet resigned, but preferred not to make further comments. A lawyer by profession, he assumed office in January 2025.

Additionally, according to gathered information, some board members are expressing dissatisfaction with his performance.
