Melrose Prison: Andy Selmour was fatally attacked with a metal bar ripped from a bed. Surveillance footage reviewed by the police reveals this detail. On Tuesday evening, Andy Selmour, who had been convicted for theft, succumbed to his injuries following this violent assault at Melrose Prison. Investigators have already identified the main suspect.

The autopsy of the deceased is expected to take place in the coming days. Andy Selmour's mother, currently abroad, has expressed her desire to be present for the post-mortem examination. Furthermore, the police are attempting to locate the improvised weapon, which was no longer at the scene when officers arrived on Tuesday evening.

Eliza Drapchand, the inmate's wife, suggests that the assault might be connected to a drug-related vendetta.

"They are targeting that prisoner who was being beaten; they hit him with a metal bar that they took from a bed," she stated. She is now seeking justice for her husband.

She added that the assailants had previously warned Andy Selmour not to intervene in a dispute between other inmates.
