Death of Andy Selmour in Melrose: "His children still need him," says his daughter

Andy Selmour's death in Melrose: "His children still need him," his daughter confides.

She demands justice for her father. Andy Selmour's daughter recounts visiting him yesterday and noticing he was not in his usual condition, although he did not mention any health issues.

"I demand justice for my father. He has children. They still need him. He hasn't even held my child in his arms yet," she shares.

According to surveillance footage reviewed by the police, Andy Selmour, a 33-year-old resident of Port Louis, was fatally attacked with a metal bar torn from a bed at Melrose prison. Convicted of theft, he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday evening. Investigators have already identified the main suspect.

The autopsy is expected to take place in the coming days. His mother, currently abroad, wishes to be present for the post-mortem examination. The police are also trying to locate the makeshift weapon, which was missing when the officers arrived.

The inmate's wife, Eliza Drapchand, suggests that a settling of scores related to a drug case could be the motive behind the attack.
