Murder of Sivanee Saminaden: "He is in a state where he cannot give his statement," explains Beltrami Kemayou's lawyer
Beltrami Kemayou, the alleged murderer of Sivanee Saminaden, has yet to provide his statement to the police. He was discharged from the hospital on Wednesday, January 7, and was escorted to the Central Police Station in the afternoon by a team from the Special Supporting Unit (SSU).
In a statement to the press, his lawyer, Me Nawaz Dookhee, noted that his client is not yet in a condition to share his account of events. "He is in a state where he cannot give his statement," he clarified.
Beltrami Kemayou is accused of fatally assaulting his wife, Sivanee Saminaden, 29, during a violent domestic dispute that occurred in Petit-Raffray on Sunday, January 4. After the incident, he allegedly threw their baby into the backyard before fleeing. However, he was caught by bystanders on a nearby bridge and then handed over to the authorities.
