Motion for the Release Request of Frédéric Pavaday: Director of PedoStop Called to the Stand
Frédéric Pavaday was returned to police custody on Wednesday, following his appearance at the Curepipe court this afternoon. Discussions regarding his request for conditional release continued on March 4.
During the hearing, the representative of the DPP, Priscilla Veerabadrun, called a second witness to testify: the director of PedoStop, Virginie Bissessur. She stated in court that the two alleged victims who sent emails are not located in Mauritius and that they are indeed real.
She also highlighted that one of them is expected to travel to Mauritius in the coming days. Regarding the other, PedoStop has organized a fundraising event to facilitate her return to the country.
Subsequently, Frédéric Pavaday was questioned by both his lawyers and the DPP representative.
Discussions on the bail request will continue tomorrow at 1:30 PM, with the arguments being presented.
As a reminder, Frédéric Pavaday was arrested on February 24 following a complaint lodged by a former student of Loreto Junior School in Curepipe, aged 12. She accuses him of alleged inappropriate touching and remarks deemed inappropriate.
The former music teacher is also facing a second complaint.
