Motion for the Release of Frédéric Pavaday: His Lawyer Challenges Two Emails Sent to PedoStop

The hearings in the Frédéric Pavaday case will continue this Friday. After his fifth appearance before the Curepipe court on Thursday, the former music teacher was returned to police custody.

During this morning's hearing, his lawyers, Me Sanjeev Teeluckdharry and Me Sachin Boodhoo, presented their arguments.

Me Sanjeev Teeluckdharry specifically challenged two emails sent by former students of Loreto Junior School in Curepipe to the organization PedoStop.

Meanwhile, Me Sachin Boodhoo spent considerable time discussing the charge of 'Ill-Treatment of a Child'. He cited various international references and examples to explain how this offense is defined in different jurisdictions.

The representative from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, Me Priscilla Veerabadrun, will present her arguments tomorrow.

For context, this resident of Riche-Terre was arrested on February 24, following a complaint filed by a former 12-year-old student of Loreto Junior School in Curepipe, who accuses him of inappropriate touching and comments. The former teacher is also facing a second complaint.
