Motion for Release of Frédéric Pavaday: His Lawyer Challenges Two Emails Sent to PedoStop
The hearings in the Frédéric Pavaday case will continue this Friday. After his fifth appearance before the Curepipe court on Thursday, the former music teacher was returned to police custody. During the hearing this morning, his lawyers, Me Sanjeev Teeluckdharry and Me Sachin Boodhoo, presented their arguments. Me Sanjeev Teeluckdharry specifically challenged two emails sent by former students of Loreto Junior School in Curepipe to the organization PedoStop. Meanwhile, Me Sachin Boodhoo took considerable time to focus on the charge of 'Ill-Treatment of a Child.' He cited several references and international examples to explain how this offense is defined in different jurisdictions. The representative from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, Me Priscilla Veerabadrun, will present her arguments tomorrow. It is worth noting that this resident of Riche-Terre was arrested on February 24 following a complaint filed by a 12-year-old former student of Loreto Junior School in Curepipe, who accuses him of inappropriate touching and remarks. The former teacher is also subject to a second complaint.
