Title: No Resignation from Paul Bérenger This Tuesday
Content: No resignation from Paul Bérenger on Tuesday, March 17th. This information has been confirmed by sources close to the Deputy Prime Minister.
The leader of the Mauritian Militant Movement (MMM), who has mentioned his departure from the government, will not attend Parliament this Tuesday.
According to our sources, we will have to wait for the central committee meeting scheduled for tomorrow to get a clearer indication regarding his resignation.
It is worth recalling that Paul Bérenger spoke at a press conference held yesterday, Monday, March 16th, following the MMM political bureau meeting. He stated: "I will see tomorrow if I need to resign from my position as Deputy Prime Minister. My decision is made, but I will announce the details of its implementation. If I have to choose between my position as Deputy Prime Minister and the country, I will choose the country."
According to the mauve leader, the country is heading towards a severe economic crisis. "We are going to face a crisis," he asserted, emphasizing that this is not the time to be without a full-time Minister of Finance.
The Deputy Prime Minister also believes that the country is suffering on two fronts: from the Ministry of Finance and the Prime Minister’s Office.
