Showers and Storms This Friday
A warning for heavy rain is in effect in Mauritius until 4 PM on Friday, April 24. Atmospheric conditions remain unstable in our region, leading to the formation of active clouds.
The weather is partly cloudy this morning, becoming overcast later with showers. These showers may occasionally be moderate to locally heavy, accompanied by thunderstorms.
Temporary water accumulations are likely in flood-prone areas. Pockets of fog are also expected in certain regions, reducing visibility.
The east wind will blow at about 25 km/h with gusts up to 50 km/h. The sea will be rough beyond the reefs, with swells from the southwest reaching 3 meters. Sea outings are not recommended.
The public is advised to stay sheltered and avoid plains, hiking, sea outings, and seeking shelter under trees during thunderstorms. Avoid areas prone to water accumulation. Caution is advised on the roads due to reduced visibility caused by showers and fog.
The maximum temperature will range from 25 to 27 degrees Celsius in higher areas and from 29 to 31 degrees Celsius in coastal regions. The minimum temperature will be between 20 and 22 degrees Celsius on the Central Plateau and between 24 and 26 degrees Celsius on the coast.
