Ajay Gunness: "Paul Bérenger's Decision to Sit as an Independent Backbencher in Parliament Poses No Problem for GM"

Ajay Gunness stated that Paul Bérenger's choice to serve as an "independent backbencher" in Parliament does not pose any issue for the government. The deputy leader of the MMM believes that this situation may actually complicate matters further for the opposition. Gunness made these remarks on Monday afternoon, prior to the meeting of the Political Bureau, which was held once again in the council chamber of the Port-Louis municipality. Regarding the letter sent by the opposition Whip, Adrien Duval, to the Speaker of the National Assembly, Gunness believes that the MP "did his research well." He emphasizes, however, that the final decision now rests with the Speaker.
