Vulnerable Groups: Establishment of a Crisis Solidarity Fund to Ensure Social Justice

The Council of Ministers, meeting this Friday, approved the establishment of a Crisis Solidarity Fund to ensure social justice in response to the economic repercussions of the war in the Middle East. Here are other measures taken to support vulnerable groups:

• Extension of the list of eligible products for the Price Stabilization Fund to include other essential items that have seen significant price increases.

• Furthermore, the Cabinet noted that the Ministry of Social Integration, Social Security, and National Solidarity, in consultation with the Ministry of Finance, is reviewing the income threshold to determine a household's eligibility for the Social Register of Mauritius.
