Vulnerable Groups: Creation of a Crisis Solidarity Fund to Ensure Social Justice

The Council of Ministers, convened this Friday, has approved the establishment of a Crisis Solidarity Fund to promote social justice in light of the economic repercussions of the war in the Middle East. Here are other measures taken to support vulnerable groups:

• Extension of the list of products eligible for the Price Stabilization Fund to include additional essential goods whose prices have significantly increased.

• The Cabinet has also noted that the Ministry of Social Integration, Social Security, and National Solidarity, in consultation with the Ministry of Finance, is reviewing the income threshold to determine household eligibility for the Social Register of Mauritius.
