Mare-Chicose: Agreement Reached After Truckers' Strike

The situation at Mare-Chicose has been resolved following disturbances recorded on Friday morning, when truckers blocked access to the landfill site, halting operations.

The strike was initiated by truck owners operating as contractors, who protested several months of unpaid fees.

An agreement was finally reached between the truckers and the company Sotravic. After intense negotiations with the Ministry of the Environment, the company committed to settle the arrears by next Friday.

This was stated by Kenny Rajaratnam, one of the affected drivers, in an interview with Radio Plus.
