Murder of Yogeshwaree Bhunjun: 'A very delicate and complicated case,' says Me Samad Golamaully, lawyer for one of the three suspects
"It's a very delicate and complicated case," stated Me Samad Golamaully, who is representing Fadil Hossen Dulloo. This 41-year-old nursing officer from Dagotière is one of the three suspects arrested yesterday by the Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT) in connection with the suspicious disappearance of Yogeshwaree Bhunjun, a 37-year-old mother.
In the attached video, you can hear Me Samad Golamaully's statement following his client's appearance before the Weekend Court on Sunday, March 15, where police objected to his release on bail. The same applies to the other two suspects, Mahmad Imteaz Peeroo and Khalif Ul Ahmad Raffique, both 46 years old and residing in Camp-Fouquereaux. They have been returned to police custody.
The three suspects have been provisionally charged with the murder of Yogeshwaree Bhunjun. They are suspected of having conspired with the victim's partner, Dr. Arvind Ramchurn. At this stage of the investigation by the MCIT, Dr. Arvind Ramchurn is now identified as the alleged mastermind behind the murder.
It is worth noting that Yogeshwaree Bhunjun has been missing since February 23. The disappearance of this young mother of two children, a resident of Plaine-des-Papayes, has intrigued investigators. Her partner, Dr. Arvind Ramchurn, a medical professional, was arrested last week for murder.
According to preliminary findings of the investigation, the couple's two young children were left alone at home at the time of their mother's disappearance.
During his interrogation, Dr. Arvind Ramchurn denied any involvement in Yogeshwaree Bhunjun's disappearance. However, traces of blood were discovered in his 4x4 vehicle. The suspect claimed that the blood came from meat purchased a few days earlier. Scientific analyses are still needed to confirm the source of these traces.
