Parliament: Controversy over Seats: The Speaker Reminds of the Rules

In a statement made yesterday in Parliament, the Speaker, Shirin Aumeeruddy-Cziffra, mentioned that she had received two separate letters: one from Adrien Duval, the Opposition Whip, and the other from Paul Bérenger, both regarding the allocation of seats within the Chamber. She immediately clarified that, in accordance with Standing Order 6 of the Standing Orders and Rules of the National Assembly, the distribution of seats is solely her responsibility.
