Repatriation of Ras Natty Baby: Minister Anil Bachoo Responds to Controversies and Calls for Respect During Mourning
In a message posted on his Facebook page this Wednesday, April 29, Health Minister Anil Bachoo addressed several controversies that have arisen in recent hours regarding the repatriation of Ras Natty Baby.
"I want to remind everyone that the Ministry of Health and Wellness intervened solely at the request of the family members, in a spirit of responsibility and support. At this stage, out of respect for the family's mourning, we will not make any further comments. The priority today is to ensure that Ras Natty Baby's remains are repatriated to Mauritius as soon as possible. After the mourning period, we will provide all necessary explanations and address the essential questions," Anil Bachoo wrote.
It is important to note that Ras Natty Baby, whose real name was Joseph Nicolas Emilien, passed away on Sunday in India at the age of 72. He had traveled to the Indian subcontinent on April 8 for medical treatment. His body is scheduled to be repatriated tomorrow, Thursday, April 30.
