Feminicide: Tragic Death of Yogeshwaree Bhunjun

The investigation into the tragic death of 37-year-old Yogeshwaree Bhunjun has seen new developments in recent days under the leadership of the Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT).

This advancement follows the initial arrest of the victim's partner, Dr. Arvind Parmanand Ramchurn, last Tuesday, March 10, 2026, under a provisional murder charge. The analysis of recordings from private surveillance systems as well as the Safe City network has led to the isolation of crucial evidence implicating new individuals in this case.

On March 14, 2026, Fadhill Hoossen Dulloo, Mamade Imteaize Peeroo, and Khalif Ul Ahmad Raffick were apprehended by investigators to shed light on the events leading to the victim's murder. The three new suspects were presented before the Bail and Remand Court on Sunday, where they were questioned about their alleged involvement. The court ordered their continued police detention, just like Dr. Ramchurn, to facilitate ongoing interrogations.

The investigation is now focused on reconciling witness testimonies and the digital data collected by law enforcement.
