Weather: Localized Showers and Isolated Thunderstorm Risks This Thursday

A light breeze is circulating in the area. The morning will be primarily pleasant. However, cloudy developments are expected in the afternoon, mainly over the southeast of the island and the central plateau, with localized showers. These may be of moderate intensity, accompanied by isolated thunderstorms, according to the bulletin from the Vacoas weather station issued this Thursday.

The maximum temperature will range between 25 and 28 °C in the highlands and between 30 and 33 °C along the coastal regions.

Localized showers are also forecast for early evening, before a gradual improvement in weather conditions.

The minimum temperature will fluctuate between 19 and 21 °C on the central plateau and between 23 and 25 °C along the coast.

The wind will blow from the north at about 15 km/h, becoming variable at times.

The sea will be rough beyond the reefs, with waves approximately 1.50 meters high.

The public is advised to stay sheltered during thunderstorms, to avoid low-lying areas, hiking, and outings at sea, and not to seek shelter under trees.

Additionally, a tropical depression is developing to the south-southeast of Diego Garcia. At 4:00 AM this morning, it was centered around 11.8 degrees south latitude and 73.4 degrees east longitude. It is moving southwest at about 8 km/h and is evolving in a favorable environment, thus capable of further intensification.
