Weather Alert: Heavy Rain Advisory Valid Until 10 AM on Saturday, April 4th
An advisory for heavy rains in Mauritius was issued at 4:30 AM on Friday, April 3, 2026, and is valid until 10 AM tomorrow, Saturday, April 4, 2026.
The atmospheric conditions remain humid and unstable in our region. Additionally, clouds associated with a frontal system are approaching from the southwest. Localized showers, which may be heavy at times and accompanied by thunderstorms, are expected throughout the day in the western part of the island and on the central plateau.
These showers may spread to other areas starting this evening. A heavy rain advisory is currently in effect for Mauritius.
Water accumulation is likely in flood-prone areas. Visibility will be reduced due to fog and during showers.
It is advised to the public:
- Stay indoors and avoid plains, hiking, sea outings, and do not seek shelter under trees during thunderstorms.
- Avoid areas prone to water accumulation.
- Exercise extreme caution on the roads.
