Weather: Heavy Rain Warning Lifted, Strong Rain Watch Now in Effect Until Saturday Morning

The heavy rain warning issued earlier on Friday, April 3, 2026, in Mauritius has been lifted as the active clouds associated with the frontal system that crossed the island from the west are gradually dissipating. However, atmospheric conditions remain unstable, and moderate showers, which may temporarily intensify and be accompanied by thunderstorms, are expected in certain regions. Therefore, a strong rain watch is still in effect until Saturday morning at 10:00 AM.

Temporary water accumulations are likely in flood-prone areas, and visibility may be reduced during showers and due to fog.

1- Stay sheltered, avoid low-lying areas, hiking, and sea outings, and refrain from seeking shelter under trees during thunderstorms;
