Parliament: A Lighthearted Atmosphere Filled with Humor and Sarcasm
Absent from the last four parliamentary sessions, the three resigning members of the Mauritian Militant Movement (MMM), namely Paul Bérenger, Joanna Bérenger, and Chetan Baboolall, returned to the National Assembly on Tuesday, April 14.
This return came with changes in the seating arrangement. The three deputies took their places in the opposition rows, just behind Joe Lesjongard and Adrien Duval.
The atmosphere this morning was lighthearted, even though humor and sarcasm remained prominent. Chetan Baboolall was the first to arrive at 11 a.m., followed by other elected officials. Our reporter, Ruquyyah Kurreembocus-Raffique, provides insights on the atmosphere observed at the scene.
