After Paul Bérenger's Departure: Shafick Ahmad and Nabil Moolna Submit Their Resignations

The close circle of Paul Bérenger has walked away. The leader of the Mauritian Militant Movement (MMM) found himself alone last Friday after resigning. Three days later, the former number two of the government received a wave of support.

Meanwhile, Shafick Ahmad, Senior Advisor to Paul Bérenger, submitted his resignation letter this Monday, March 23. Nabil Moolna, an advisor in the Attorney General's office, has also resigned from his position.

The MMM's political bureau is meeting this afternoon, a crucial appointment for the party's leadership. Paul Bérenger has stated he will not attend. However, the 16 parliamentarians who have chosen to remain in government will be present.

In the event of Paul Bérenger's resignation as leader of the MMM, the party might opt for a temporary collegiate leadership until a new leader is elected.
