The government’s number three commented on Paul Bérenger's resignation from his position as Deputy Prime Minister. Shakeel Mohamed asserts that the MMM leader remains a significant figure in the country’s political history.
"Historically, the Mohamed family and Paul Bérenger have been fierce rivals, but certainly not enemies. We have learned to understand each other better. I wish him good luck and all the best. I am confident that, in the interest of the country, Bérenger will be constructive," he stated after the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations at the Sunni Razvi Society in Port-Louis.
