Politics: 16 out of 18 MMM Members Remain in Government, Joanna Bérenger's Decision Awaited

Sixteen out of the eighteen members of the MMM party will remain in the government, as announced by Rajesh Bhagwan, the party's Secretary General.

"The Alliance of Change remains intact," assured Ajay Gunness during a press conference held by the MMM parliamentary group, with the exception of Paul Bérenger and Joanna Bérenger, on Friday evening at the MMM office on Rue La Poudrière in Port-Louis.

Currently, Joanna Bérenger, the Junior Minister of the Environment, has not clarified her position regarding whether she will stay in the government or follow her father's lead.

"The work goes on. We have a five-year mandate," stated Minister Aadil Ameer Meea.

Arianne Navarre-Marie expressed disappointment that Paul Bérenger ignored the decision of the Central Committee, whose members overwhelmingly wished for the MMM to remain in the government.

On Friday, Paul Bérenger submitted his resignation as Deputy Prime Minister.

Here are the 16 members who will remain in the government:
