Ramgoolam on Bérenger's Resignation: "It's Sad That We've Come to This. But the Alliance for Change Remains Intact..."
The Prime Minister made a statement this evening regarding Paul Bérenger's resignation as Deputy Prime Minister, describing the situation as "very sad."
"I have been very patient and have made many concessions because I wanted this alliance to last. But he made his decision. I think it is unfortunate that this has happened," Navin Ramgoolam stated in his address broadcasted on the national station.
However, the head of government wanted to reassure the public: "The Alliance for Change remains intact." He noted that 16 out of the 18 elected members of the MMM remain in the government.
The two members of the MMM who are not part of this are Paul Bérenger and Joanna Bérenger.
