Ramgoolam Not in a Hurry to Appoint Bérenger's Successor
The Prime Minister has stated that he is not in a hurry to appoint a new deputy to replace Paul Bérenger, who resigned on Friday. In an interview with Radio Plus this morning, following the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations at the Sunni Razvi Society in Port-Louis, he mentioned, "We will wait and then we will see." In response to another question, the head of government expressed his sorrow over Bérenger's resignation. "Despite the fact that we have been opponents and allies, we share a long friendship. Friendship remains friendship. I am saddened because his resignation could have been avoided," he said.
