After Paul Bérenger's Departure: Shafick Ahmad and Nabil Moolna Submit Their Resignations

Paul Bérenger's close associates have walked away. The leader of the Mauritian Militant Movement (MMM) found himself alone last Friday following his resignation. Three days later, the former number two of the government received a wave of support.

Meanwhile, Shafick Ahmad, Senior Advisor to Paul Bérenger, submitted his resignation letter on Monday, March 23. Nabil Moolna, an advisor in the Attorney General's office, has also stepped down from his position.

The MMM's political office is meeting this afternoon, a crucial appointment for the party's leadership. Paul Bérenger has stated that he will not attend. However, the 16 parliamentarians who have chosen to remain in government will be present.

Should Paul Bérenger resign from his position as leader of the MMM, the party may consider a temporary collective leadership until a new leader is elected.
