MMM Political Bureau: 22 of 37 Members Present This Monday
At the Political Bureau (BP) meeting held on Monday afternoon at Ambrose Street, Rose-Hill, 22 out of 37 members of the Mouvement Militant Mauricien (MMM) were present. There were two apologies and 13 absentees. These figures were announced by the party president, Reza Uteem, during a press briefing following the meeting.
Among those absent were the MMM leader Paul Bérenger and MPs Joanna Bérenger, Chetan Baboolall, and Veda Baloomoody, who are currently abroad.
Paul Bérenger, the leader of the MMM, submitted his resignation as Deputy Prime Minister last Friday, while his daughter, Joanna Bérenger, resigned from her position as Junior Minister at the Ministry of the Environment on Monday morning.
Reza Uteem clarified that no member has submitted their resignation letter to the party.
