"Corruption" and the "Gang of 5": What Bérenger Declared
Corruption is among the reasons that led Paul Bérenger to resign from his position as Deputy Prime Minister, according to his statements. "Bebet is being lifted," he said.
The MMM leader spoke to the press at his home in Riverwalk, Floréal, on Wednesday, March 25.
He provided several examples: "One Labour Minister came to me to tell me what he needed to do... one of the people from the gang of 5 or 25 who are in the PMO brought a businessman with him to offer him a bribe," Paul Bérenger stated.
He claims to have reported the matter to the Prime Minister. According to him, the individual involved "lost their position" at the Prime Minister's Office before being reinstated.
Another topic discussed was the Mamy Ravatomanga case.
"Someone reported to Ramgoolam that a phone conversation was recorded where someone in the Prime Minister's Office was talking about Ravatomanga, Mamy... taking cash... there is a recording... according to this person, they spoke with the Prime Minister... the Prime Minister told him this is artificial intelligence...".
When questioned by journalists on this topic, he added: "There are many millions at stake in this Mamy case."
